Bring your memory to the AI you already use.
Base Connect plugs your Base into ChatGPT and Claude as a connector. They can ask your Base for the few facts a task needs, and nothing more. Your memory stays on hardware you own.
Coming as a free software update. Base Drive gets it first, then Base Router.
Cloud assistants are smart. They just shouldn’t keep your life.
Base Memory is the private record of what matters to you: projects, people, preferences, documents, stored and searched entirely on your own hardware.
Memory you can inspect
What your AI knows about you lives on your Base Drive or Base Router as records you can open, correct, export, or delete. Not in someone else's account.
The few facts, not your history
When an assistant asks, your Base searches locally and compiles the minimum context for that one task. It never hands over your whole story.
Private details handled first
Names, numbers, and other sensitive details are swapped for placeholders on your own hardware, and you can preview exactly what would leave.
One memory, every assistant
The same memory serves Claude, ChatGPT, and your Base's own local model. Switch assistants without starting over. It's yours, so it moves with you.
A local memory layer that protects context and reduces waste.
You chat in ChatGPT or Claude like you always do. When your context would help, the assistant asks your Base, on hardware you own. The search, the trimming, and the cleanup all happen at home. Only the result crosses the line.
- · The assistant asks your Base, not the other way around
- · Your Base searches locally and returns the minimum
- · Requests outside your sharing rules are declined
- · Every call is logged in plain language on your Base
This is the cloud-firstdirection: your assistant calls your Base. The same hardware also works the other way around — you talk to your Base, it uses the tools you’ve approved (web search included), and the cloud is optional. See both directions compared.
The assistants you already pay for.
Base Connect speaks MCP — an open standard that both Claude and ChatGPT understand. No new chat app to learn.
Claude
ComingAdd your Base as a connector. On your desktop it talks to the Base over your own network; a remote option brings your memory to Claude on the web and your phone.

ChatGPT
ComingConnect your Base as a ChatGPT app. For workplaces, a secure tunnel reaches the Base without opening a hole in your network.

Anything else that speaks the same standard, like coding tools, agents, note apps, can ask your Base the same way, under the same rules.
Small on purpose.
The connector starts read-only: it can look things up, not change them. There is no “return all memory,” no raw database access, and nothing saves or deletes without your confirmation on the Base itself.
Look something up in your memory
Returns a short list of permitted records, with citations.
search_memory
Pack just enough context for one task
Compiles a small, task-sized context package within a hard budget.
prepare_context
Show where a fact came from
Retrieves an approved excerpt from a cited source document.
get_source
Preview exactly what would be shared
Shows the payload with private details removed, before anything sends.
preview_redaction
Suggest something new to remember
Nothing saves without your confirmation on the Base.

A connector is not a firewall.
We’d rather you understand the boundary than oversell it.
It doesn’t make ChatGPT or Claude local. If you type private details straight into a cloud chat, they’re already there. Base Connect controls what its own tools return. The memory store stays home, and only tool results cross.
Cleanup is careful, not magic. Removing names and numbers doesn’t make text impossible to trace. That’s why the connector returns the minimum, shows you previews, and lets you keep whole categories local-only.

It runs on hardware you own.
Base Connect ships as a free software update. It comes to the drive in your laptop and the box on your shelf. Own the memory first.
