How it works

Plug it in. Open the app. Start using private AI.

The hard part of local AI has always been the setup. Offline Base’s entire job is to make that part disappear, then stay clear about what happens after.

01

Plug it in

Power and an ethernet or Wi-Fi connection. That's the whole setup. The software and AI are already loaded, with no command line, monitor, or technical setup required.

02

It appears on your network

Your devices find the box automatically on your home or office network. You do not have to hunt for settings or type in network addresses.

03

Start using it

Open the built-in app, ask questions, summarize documents, or connect approved tools your team already uses. The private AI runs on the box first.

04

Reach it from anywhere

Remote access is optional. When you turn it on, you can use the same box away from home through a private encrypted connection.

Two ways to use it

Local-first or cloud-first. You pick the direction.

Some people want to talk to their own AI and leave the cloud out of it. Others love ChatGPT or Claude and just want their private details handled at home. The same box serves both — the only thing that changes is who calls whom.

Which Base:

You talk to your Base. Most questions never leave home; a rare hard task goes out only with your OK, cleaned first.

Two directions, either Base. Local doesn’t mean cut off.
your Base doing the worka cloud AI is involvedfaded line: not used right now
  • · Local-first: your Base answers at home — and it isn’t cut off. It can use web search and the other tools you approve.
  • · Hard tasks: leave only with your OK, with private details swapped for placeholders first, then come back through your Base.
  • · Cloud-first: keep the assistant you pay for. It asks your Base for the few facts a task needs, under rules you set — that’s Base Connect, coming as a free update.
Your approval matters

Local by default. Cloud only with your explicit yes.

Every question is handled on the box first. If a task needs more help, Offline Base asks before anything leaves. You choose, the approval is recorded, and one switch can keep outside help off for good.

  • · A prompt before a single word leaves the box
  • · A written record of every approval
  • · A local-only mode that turns outside help off entirely

Remote access, honestly

Use it from anywhere without breaking the promise.

Remote access is optional. When you turn it on, your connection is encrypted end to end, and we cannot read your prompts. Some outside coordination may be used to establish the secure link, so remote access starts off and must be enabled by you.

For buyers who need no outside connection at all, local-only mode keeps the box inside the building.

That’s the whole story.

No dark patterns, no silent uploads, no surprises in the fine print.
